The Museumkaart, known in English as the Museum Card, is a Dutch pass that gives the holder free entry to around 400 museums in the Netherlands for one year. It is personal to the buyer and can be bought online or at many of the larger participating museums, which issue a temporary card on the spot. Most museums admit cardholders to their permanent collections at no charge, although some ask an extra fee for special exhibitions. In 2013 more than 900,000 people held one.
