SC Heerenveen is a Dutch football club from Heerenveen in Friesland, founded on 20 July 1920. It plays at the Abe Lenstra Stadion, a ground of 26,100 places named after the province's most famous player, and competes in the Eredivisie. The club won the KNVB Cup in 2009, its only major trophy, and has been a regular in European competition. It plays in blue and white, and its shirts carry the water lilies of the Frisian flag, part of a strongly regional identity.
