Académico de Viseu Futebol Clube is a Portuguese football club from Viseu in the centre of the country, founded in 1914 and re-established in 2005 after the original club ran into financial trouble. It plays at the Estádio do Fontelo, a ground of 6,912 places inside the city's park, and competes in Liga Portugal 2, the second tier, where it has played continuously since 2013. The club is nicknamed Os Viriatos after the Lusitanian leader Viriathus, whose statue stands in the city, and plays in red and black. It runs a full youth structure and is the leading club of the Viseu district.
