Middlesbrough Football Club is an English club from Middlesbrough in North Yorkshire, formed in 1876 and one of the older league clubs in the country. It plays at the Riverside Stadium, a ground of 33,746 places opened in 1995, and competes in the Championship. The club won the League Cup in 2004, its only major trophy, and reached the UEFA Cup final in 2006. It plays in red and white and is nicknamed the Boro. Its old home, Ayresome Park, hosted matches at the 1966 World Cup.
