The Halal Guys is an American halal food chain that began in 1990 as a food cart in Manhattan, New York. It is run by its founders Mohamed Abouelenein, Ahmed Elsaka and Abdelbaset Elsayed through The Halal Guys Franchise Inc. The business is known for platters of chicken or gyro meat over rice with a white sauce, sold from carts on Sixth Avenue that drew long queues. It has since moved into sit down restaurants and franchising, in the United States and abroad.
