arbroathfc.co.ukAbout Arbroath
Arbroath FC is a Scottish football club from the coastal town of Arbroath in Angus, founded in 1878. It plays at Gayfield Park, a ground of about 4,100 places so close to the North Sea that spray comes over the wall in a storm, and competes in the semi-professional divisions of the Scottish league. The club holds the world record for the biggest win in a senior football match: 36-0 against Bon Accord in the Scottish Cup in 1885. It plays in maroon and is nicknamed the Red Lichties, after the harbour light that guided the town's fishing boats.
