Big Lots is an American discount chain that sells closeout and overstock goods, from furniture and household items to food, at reduced prices. It was founded on 13 December 1967 in Columbus, Ohio, as Consolidated Stores Corporation and took the Big Lots name later. In 2025 the business changed hands and now belongs to the investment firm Gordon Brothers. All of its stores closed on 29 September 2025, after which part of the network reopened.
