Bloomingdale's Inc. is an American department store chain in the upmarket segment, founded in 1861 by the brothers Joseph and Lyman Bloomingdale. Its flagship store stands in Midtown Manhattan in New York City. The chain was bought by Federated Department Stores in 1930. Federated went on to buy Macy's in 1994 and renamed itself Macy's, Inc. in 2007, so Bloomingdale's belongs to that company today.
