Books-A-Million is an American bookshop chain, founded in 1917 in Florence, Alabama, and the second largest chain of its kind in the United States. It sells books, magazines, gifts and stationery, and many of its stores include a café. The chain is often referred to simply as BAM. It is wholly owned by the Anderson family, which took the company private again in 2015 after it had been listed on the stock market since 1992.
