About 大丸

Daimaru is a Japanese department store chain, incorporated in Kyoto in 1920 and tracing its roots to a much older drapery business in that city. Its stores sell clothing, cosmetics, household goods and food, with the basement food halls a fixture of the larger branches. The company also ran the Daimaru Peacock supermarkets. After a merger with Matsuzakaya it trades as part of Daimaru Matsuzakaya Department Stores, under the holding company J. Front Retailing.
