About Co-op

Co-op is a British supermarket chain and the brand used for the food retail business of The Co-operative Group, one of the largest consumer co-operatives in the world. The group dates from 1850 and is owned by its members rather than by outside shareholders. Co-op is the seventh largest food retailer in the United Kingdom and runs nearly 2,400 shops, generally smaller convenience stores. Through its wholesale arm it also supplies more than 6,000 other shops, including those of independent co-operative societies.
