David Jones is an Australian department store chain founded in Sydney in 1838 by the Welsh merchant of the same name. It sells cosmetics, fashion, homewares, furniture, electrical goods and food, and is one of the two large traditional department store chains in the country alongside Myer. Its head office is at Two Melbourne Quarter on Collins Street in the Docklands area of Melbourne. The company is often described as the oldest department store in the world still trading under its original name.
