Farmec is the largest cosmetics manufacturer in Romania. The company dates back to 1889 and is headquartered in Cluj-Napoca, where most of its production is concentrated. It makes and sells beauty products, personal hygiene articles, household hygiene products and other chemical goods. As of 2013 it ran a large production plant in Cluj-Napoca and employed 600 people. Its name is the Romanian word for charm.
