Texaco is an American fuel and lubricants brand that started in 1902 as the Texas Fuel Company in Beaumont, Texas. It grew into one of the largest oil companies in the United States, selling petrol, diesel and lubricants under a logo of a red star with a green T. Chevron acquired the company in October 2001, the combined firm traded as ChevronTexaco until 2005, and Texaco has continued since then as a brand of Chevron. Service stations still carry the name in Europe, including in Britain and the Netherlands.
