About Wallace Bishop

Wallace Bishop is an Australian specialty retailer of jewellery, timepieces and decorative arts. The jeweller of that name arrived in Queensland in 1909, having learned the trade in England in the late nineteenth century, and worked for jewellers in Queen Street in Brisbane before setting up his own manufacturing business in 1917. By the 1930s a Wallace Bishop shop stood on the corner of Albert and Queen Streets in Brisbane. The company still trades under his name from stores around Australia.
